Bertoia side chair in chrome

Original side chair designed by Harry Bertoia in the 1950s with black seat pad for Knoll International.  

These are the earlier models and came from the estate of Dame Barbara Mary Quant the famous fashion designer and icon.

As Knoll say: "Innovative, comfortable and strikingly handsome, Harry Bertoia's side chair's delicate filigree appearance bellies its strength and durability".

As Bertoia said: "If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture.  Space passes right through them."

Brilliant.

Welded steel with rods of chrome polish paint.  In good vintage condition - bought from the original owner.
